Anti-Racism Talk by Harrison Mooney
February 7, 2025 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

UFV and community members are invited to attend a hybrid anti-racism talk by journalist and author Harrison Mooney, the winner of the Rakuten Kobo Emerging Writer Prize for his 2022 memoir Invisible Boy. He shares his journey from “white cult to Black consciousness as a transracial adoptee raised in a white evangelical Abbotsford family”. On February 7, the UFV alumnus returns for an in-depth discussion of adoption, abandonment, identity, faith, and his heart-breaking yet often hilarious book, which reclaimed his life story and led him back home.
When: Friday, February 7, 2025, from 4–6 PM PST
Where: Attend in person or virtually. Space is limited, so RSVP early for the in-person option. The Abbotsford campus room number and event link will be shared closer to the event date.
