Soccer Game

April 13 @ 3:00 pm

I am excited to invite you on behalf of the AIS department and in conjunction with the Fraser Valley Soccer League (FVSL), our friends, Mr. Kegan Clarke and Mr. Thomas Mills to a soccer game at the Langley Events centre as our special guests.
AIS and the FVSL would like to invite future and current UFV students to watch the home match for the Vancouver FC vs Atlético.
This is a coordinated effort between UFV’s AIS department and the FVSL, where we hope to promote the FVSL and the AIS department to our current and future UFV students (and escort if needed), and build improved communities within the FVSL and UFV families.
A little about Arts and Integrated Studies… Were new and a bit different…
AIS houses the Bachelor of Integrated Studies (BIS) and the General Studies Diploma (GSD).
We offer the following electives that may be of interest to your students.
Ø  AIS 101 – Fundamentals of Higher Education
Ø  AIS 108 – Academic Literacy & AIS 208 Academic Literacy II
Ø  AIS 111- Foundations of Learning, Reflecting and Academic Success
These are great foundational elective courses, for all students from all disciplines, taught in a pedagogy of experiential, active, and student centre learning. These classes help students to manage the academic system, exams, and assignments. They provide strategies to manage student pressures and stressors, assist with multi-tasking, and develop strategies to complete assignments efficiently and improve overall student success. Yes, we like to play games and have fun while we teach and learn. No pre/core requisites for these foundational classes.
We also offer:
Ø  AIS 280 -Introduction to Work Integrated Learning – exploring various employment sectors.
Ø  AIS 299 – Professional Practice – connecting university learning to post university goals and post athletics future planning.
Ø  AIS 380 & AIS 399 -application of classroom and disciplinary learning to work related practicums or internships – planning for the future/ post athletics as a lifelong learner. Minimal core and prerequisites required.
Our department is happy to work with our Cascade athlete’s busy schedules, providing flexibility around assignments to the best of our ability. We support and appreciate our Cascade athletic students!!  To our future students, come to an event and learn about the UFV and FVSL families and make new friends and contacts.
