$10The Cascades athletic department is pleased to have your support, and we hope our games will provide you with the opportunity to encourage and support the home team, visitors, coaches and officials.
The following Canada West and U SPORTS policies outline expectations for spectators at our games. Failure to adhere to these guidelines may result in spectator(s) being asked to leave the facility.
From the Canada West operations manual, Policy 6: Conduct, Discipline and Appeals
Fans and Spectators’ Conduct (1.3.4.)
Fans and spectators are expected to behave in a manner that reflects the highest standard of sportsmanship.
Fans and spectators should refrain from:
- Using foul language or making obscene gestures of any kind.
- Abusing an official, opponent(s), opponent spectator(s) or other person(s), verbally or physically.
- Disrupting the progress of the game by their actions.
- Engaging in conduct contrary to the integrity of the game.
From the U SPORTS Bylaws, Policies and Procedures
Harassment and Discrimination Policy (90.20)
U SPORTS is committed to providing a sport and work environment in which all individuals are treated with respect and dignity. Each individual has the right to participate and work in an environment which promotes equal opportunities and prohibits unlawful discrimination and harassment.
For this policy, U SPORTS recognizes that harassment is prohibited by the Canadian Human Rights Code and by human rights legislation in every province and territory of Canada. Harassment can also be an offense under Canada’s Criminal Code.
“Harassment” is comment(s), conduct, or gesture(s) directed towards an individual or group, which is insulting, intimidating, humiliating, hurtful, malicious, degrading, or otherwise offensive and which a reasonable person would know, or, ought reasonably to know to have this effect.
