The Canadian film\, Sweetland\, playing at 7:00 pm on November 4\, at SilverCity Theatre in Mission. \nAbout the Film: Run time 105 minutes \nThe government is ready to resettle the far-flung fishing community of Sweetland\, Newfoundland with a healthy pay-out — but only if the entire community signs up for the move. Retired fisherman Moses (Mark Lewis Jones) is one of the last hold-outs. He’s lived here his entire life\, and he’s not ready to put his ghosts behind him. Reminiscent of Gordon Pinsent’s classic John and the Missus\, this adaptation of a novel by Michael Crummey is distinguished by its beautiful cinematography and a formidable central performance from Mark Lewis Jones. Director Christian Sparkes (Cast No Shadow) also has The King Tide on release this year; he’s emerging as an important figure in Canadian filmmaking. \nIndividual Tickets can be purchased for $10 at the door. Then join up with our new ongoing Dungeons & Dragons 5E Campaign! \nBeginning with character creation on Sunday\, November 6th\, and continuing on every Sunday\, through the guidance of Dungeon Master Jayden you will work with your fellow players to craft a tale of adventure. Characters will begin at level 3\, having already begun their adventuring careers\, gaining skills & powers to reflect such \nAll experience levels are welcome\, however children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Players are expected to provide their own dice. \nCost is $10/session\, collected at the conclusion of every session.

At the indicated time\, teams will all open and begin assembling their puzzle\, ensuring that they all start their table timer. DESCRIPTION:At the height of the German occupation of Poland during World War II\, Irena Gut is promoted to housekeeper of a high-ranking Nazi officer. When she discovers that the Jewish ghetto is to be expunged\, she decides to shelter twelve Jewish workers in the basement of the commander’s house. \nOver the next two years\, Irena uses her wit & humour while summoning all the strength and courage she can muster to conceal her friends in the shadow of house parties\, a blackmail scheme\, and the birth of a child. \nA powerful story of compassion\, grace and tenacity\, this unrelenting story of hope in the midst of the atrocities of war will inspire! \nIrena’s Vow will be directed by actor\, designer\, director and theatre educator\, Steven Wilhite. A graduate of UFV\, Wilhite stage managed the theatre’s production of The Giver in 2016 and is the sound designer for the company’s November production of Prince Caspian. \nIrena’s Vow offers a challenging and fulfilling artistic opportunity for actors wishing to stretch their performance capability and capacity.
