In addition to broadcasting award winning FM radio 24/7, and filling the airwaves in the FVRD with alternative content, CIVL makes use of operational and project based funding to run exciting and engaging projects that strengthen and grow the local arts and cultural landscape. Click through to see what kind of work we’ve done, thanks in large part to the Community Radio Fund of Canada. Examples include the CIVL Mini-School, FVMAs, our Hushed History of Racism mini-series and more!
Founded with a $50,000 grant from the Community Radio Fund of Canada in 2015, the FVMA’s have recognized local artists annually since 2016 in a variety of genres, now awarding $10,170 annually to local artists!
